About the initiative

An open European voice for transparent IT procurement.

The European IT Hardware Index Initiative is an open coalition of integrators, SMEs, contracting authorities and procurement practitioners from across the 27 Member States. We are addressing DIGITAL EUROPE, DG CONNECT and Eurostat to call for the immediate establishment of a transparent, public benchmark for the prices of critical IT components traded on the European single market.

Why now

A European problem requiring immediate action

Hardware price volatility is no longer a procurement inconvenience — it is a structural risk to the EU's digital sovereignty agenda, the Chips Act, AI Factories and every Member State's digital transformation roadmap. Tender clauses today have no neutral, EU-governed reference to point to. This initiative exists to close that gap.
